Holiday Breakfast Casserole

🍳This delicious breakfast casserole is perfect for festive mornings like New Year’s or Three Kings Day. It’s easy to prepare and you can make it the night before, wake up, pop it in the oven, and enjoy a tasty breakfast.

✨Tip: You can add your favorite ingredients; just keep the egg mixture ingredients the same or double them if making two baking dishes.

🥚You will need:

  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 4 oz diced red peppers
  • 8 slices of your preferred ham
  • 1 lb maple breakfast sausage
  • 3/4 loaf cubed brioche bread

🥣Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter and add the cubed brioche bread.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the breakfast sausage. Add the diced ham and red peppers, continuing to cook for about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the stove and let cool before adding to the egg mixture.
  4. In a large bowl, prepare the custard by mixing the eggs, half-and-half, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and dry mustard. Add the cooled sausage mixture and mix well.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the cubed bread, ensuring all the bread is well-coated. Top with additional shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Cover the baking dish and bake for 40 minutes. Afterward, uncover and broil for about 3 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
*If you prepare it overnight, bake it uncovered for 45 minutes.
    Enjoy! and Happy Holidays!💫
